HELP! KEYS?

I just purchased an Audi TT last night and unfortunately the dealer had only one key. Any idea how to get a key made without going to a dealer? I live just northwest of Denver, Colorado so any ideas would be greatly appreciated! (I don't need the full remote, etc. - just a few extra keys made!)

dealer only... perhaps a VW dealer can help if there's one closer.

VW dealers are usually cheaper. I hear you can get blanks on eBay. Search the forum.

I don't think VW can do Audi keys

the dealer needs to be online with the scan tool to program keys. The computer access the tech uses is not the same for Audi and VW. A VW tech may not be authorized to access Audi and vice versa.

I bought two keys from ebay. Find your FCC code on the in side of your remote. then buy two blank on ebay also. they normally run $20. they did when I bought them. then punch the pin out, put the new blank on. The dealer cut my two keys for free. So good luck.

Shop e-Bay for Remotes & Key Blades

Following advice works for 1999 A4 remote & key.
Search e-Bay for Audi, remote, blank key blade. Find a remote that has matching FCC & Audi part #'s. You must pry your remote apart to find these #'s. Average price $23. Find an uncut switch blade key. Average price $11. Take your original cut switch blade key to dealer and have them reproduce it on the blank key blade. Average cost $22. Fit the new cut key onto the e-Bay remote. Ask dealer to recode the remote or DIY. Total fare might be one third of what dealer would charge. Inquire to ebay seller named cars2006. Don't forget new batteries, two CR1620's, for each remote.
