Default When it Rains - It Pours

Clutch or somepart thereof went out last night. Had TT towed to closest dealer. While there I asked for oil service to be done. I get a call and they tell me the drain plug is stripped and I will need a new oil pan. I explain that the other Audi dealer last did the oil service. However, since it is not the same dealer doing it this time, then I will have to pay for the new oil pan.

I call the dealer that did the cross threading and they tell me if I had brought it there, they would have fixed.

Now, a call to AOA, and they say they will look into this.

This is getting expensive.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Default Sorry to hear this John, the other dealership needs to pay for this.

You had no choice but to bring to the nearest one.

Have they started doing the work on this?
If not I would hae the other dealership pick up from the current location.

If not, it's their responsibility to make it right.

Good luck with everything!

Default John, had the same problem with the oil drain being stripped...>>

Took it in for the 80K service. My tech told me he has seen a few that did this. He's the only person that has changed the oil. So, we decided to try a helli-coil (sp) first. Dealer paid for the coil and let me drive an new A4 while they fixed it.

I may still need a pan if this doesn't work. But so far, no drips.

Default I'd ask to see and make sure its actually stripped...

The first time I took my TT to the dealer they told me the oil pan was cracked and needed to be replaced. They lied.

Default Ouch. A few questions...

Sorry to hear this John.
What happened to the clutch?
Which dealer did you have it towed to?
Which dealer did the oil change?

How this can happen from a dealership is beyond my understanding. How many oil changes do they do every day, yet they can still screw up something so basic as reinstalling the drain plug? Unbelievable.
