Default i know you're all tired of it. but my MK2 opinions as of now.

the new interior BLOWS. yeah..it really does. did you guys see the cupholders?? taken straight from a Ford F150. terrible and uninspired. i know Hans said the materials and finish are great on the interior....but it has NO style whatsoever.....it's just an interior.....no feeling and soulless.

forget the mods trying to add the MK2 front end to the MK1 front end....there should be a NEW mod adding the MK1 interior to the MK2 interior!!!!!

the exterior has REALLY grown on me....especially after looking through AU-297 and TTinCTs posts (thanks to both of yer). i see bits of lambo and bugatti thrown in the mix as well...along with a huge portion of MK1 TT.....it still doesn't suit my fantasies and imagination (1954 mille miglia) but it suits my dreams of a 2054 Mille Miglia (futurist). nice.

i look forward to driving the car.....it's gonna be a great performer for sure......and i REALLY look forward to seeing pictures of a MK1 and MK2 side by side to see how they look together and how the evolution appears to be.

al in all, i'm glad my car is now fully paid off.......i think the MK1s will hold their own very well against these new FALSE ICONS.

PHASE 2 BEGINS NOW. my car begins its transformation very shortly.

Default I'm looking forward to the MkII forum so people can go whine about it there. A picture may be worth

a 1000 words, but judging a car on a couple of pictures is a bit premature. I'm not going to say anything until I see the damn thing on the road.

Default I was prepped for the interior after seeing the A3, but the seats . . . something else for the US

If this was the first intro of the TT and no MkI existed then I would really love this car (and I do like it), but the standard set by the first one makes it hard. Supposed retro styling aside, it set a bar that Audi would have a hard time topping. It ran for more than 8 years and still is running. Hard to match that lasting power where normal runs are about three years. I watched and waited five years before buying one knowing that my interest as a designer was in owning the best of the last - a design work of art. Never Follow. Missed a little on that doctrine on MkII.

Default Yeah, those cupholders are fugging terrible looking.

Parts of the interior are excellent and parts are really bleh.

The exterior has really grown on me with the exception of the rear end. I hate what they did to the rear.

Default this happens everytime a new body style is released for any car...

existing owners feel the need to hate on the new one in some sort of defensive effort to uphold their current (old) model. I ALWAYS hear from people who own a car that's being replaced by the manufacturer, "ugh, i don't like the new ones." Why do people do that?

Default I actually don't care much for the vast majority of new cars.

I'm really not digging the current design trends.

Default Kinda like tennis shoes. They keep getting uglier and uglier.

Some are nice, though.
