Will the timing belt turn if one tooth off?
I decided to do the timing belt myself this weekend since the shop I took the car to totally blew off my appointment on Wed. So everything has been going alright, and ive just put the timing belt on (thank god for the tip to just put the belt over the water pump and screw that in). So after all these warnings I keep reading about being one tooth off, Im really scared now. I rotated the crank 4 times, and it seems to turn ok besides the pressure on compression. So i just want to know if its even possible to be able to turn it if it was off a tooth? Already scared myself once when i first started to turn the crank sprocket though. Turned the crank a little and then it stopped, figured I must have screwed up....until my vise grips fell off from the top of the cams! DOH!
