Default New '04 TT DSG

I have a chance to buy a brand new (no miles) '04 TT Quattro 3.2L DSG Coupe, Dolomite Gray, Ebony nappa leather, Bose upgrade for $35K out the door. Good deal? This is at an Audi dealer. I know the TT's aren't holding their value, which concerns me a bit. But I may get them down to $34K at best, which is about $2K under what the dealer paid. Car is perfect. Just be sitting for awhile. Has a S-line badge on the side.

Thoughts?

Default my experience...

I just shopped the entire Eastern half of the country for a new-ish 3.2 DSG. Picked up an 05 for $34800 with 6000 miles on it. I'd say if you can get him down to $34k that's a pretty decent price. Most of the super-low mile 3.2s are going for $36k to $38k. And they have all been in service for a year or so. If your car was never put in service you'll have more warranty than the ones I'm talking about. btw, carmax in Indy has 3 05s with only 600 miles on em. I would have bit, but the color wasn't right for me.

Default Sounds like a pretty good deal to me...

You're not going to find many cars holding value today so if you like the car, go for it.

Default My 2004 3.2 TTR (all options) stickered for $50k...

Not sure what the MSRP on that 3.2 TT went for, but that sounds like a good price. You might talk up the new TT and see if you can squeeze a touch more or get them to throw in an extended warranty or something.

I think it should be CPOd since it's been on the lot so long but even if it isn't that's a good deal

It MSRP'd right below $42K. Doesn't have homelink, heated seats, or wheels other than the std 17x7.5. They have a set of new BBS RXII wheels in stock (also 17x7.5) that I may see if they'll sweeten the deal with. The wheels have been their awhile also I was told.

Any way to get rid of the 130 mph limiter? And get the launch control feature back?

Default Go for it , I paid $40,000 + for mine. With all the bell's and whistles.

If you like the car buy it. I don't look at a car as a investment it's a passion. I've only made money on few cars i've own. Do you like the old body style more then the new? I don't, I could go place order for new one but it could $10,000 more. You probably pay $30,000 or more for really nice used one. Just do it and enjoy your new ride.

I believe that there is a way to get LC back and remove the speed limiter. There was a day when I cared, but I don't now. The 3.2 is very quick off the line without launch control. I just put it into Sport Mode, temporarily disable ESP and mash the pedal to the floor.

If you're talking about the 5 spoke, 17" polished alloy wheels, those are really nice from one standpoint. They're really hard to scratch. The wheels have a concave design and that coupled with the rim saver, keep the wheels looking nice. The rim saver is a 1/4" piece of alloy that takes the abuse so that the rims don't have to.

I have the 18" RS wheels and I'm sorry to admit that I've done some curbing that wouldn't have happened with the 17" alloy wheels

Default Have them write right on your invoice that you're getting a 4yr/50k warranty...

..just so there is no question in the future or if you use another dealer for warranty/service work.

BTW, when you say "no miles", do you mean like 25 or less? It seems odd to me that a car this old would have no miles on it. Are uou sure it was not a demo or a loaner even for a limited time?

This sounds like a good deal but as we all know, in the car biz, there is ALWAYS another equaly as good deal down the road or if you want to wait.

Good luck!

Default Chances are the warranty clock has been ticking...>>

As Audi offered some incentives to put cars in service back then when they were stacked up on the lots. As I recall that number was $4K and the cars were eligible for CPO warranty status. Find out and bargain accordingly..
