Default Question about lug bolt length and aftermarket wheels >

Is there a 'standard' wheel lug seat thickness, so that for any given wheel that fits a TT - for example - is the lug bolt length the same (shape of seat - ball or conical - aside), or do they tend to be different? For instance, is the bolt length the same between the 6-spoke and the fat fives, and/or is that the 'same' length as required for an OZ or BBS wheel - given NO spacers, of course? Tia.

Default Stock bolts are 28mm ball seat - measured from the bottom of the seat to the end of the bolt

conical SHOULD be measured the same way. It's basically the legnth of the threads.

Default Thx, Joe; not quite the question. Does an aftermarket wheel, such as BBS or OZ >

or your NS ALSO use a 28mm, is what I'm trying to find out, and since that's dependent on the casting thickness, is there a 'standard'?

Default Never seen that spec.......

I would assume most wheels are different depending on the Strength, casting spec, depth of lug hole drilling etc. Default should always be measured by # of threads into the hub..

Default as you probably inferred >

I'm soon to be the proud owner of some aftermarket wheels. I guess they're cone seat (BBS RE's), and I do run spacers. What I'd like to do is just order one set of lug bolts for a given spacer thickness and have them arrive about the same time as the wheels, and - I know it's asking a lot - actually have them be the right length the first time...
Since nearly everyone on the forum (but me!) has bought new wheels, I was hoping this had some knowledge base. :-|

Default I know all my BBS wheels in the past have used ball seat lugs and I used my OEM bolts

doesn't mean the RE's do as well - but I would bet they do. Just add the spacer length to 28mm and you'll be fine. That's worked for me on all my wheels over the years - ball or cone seat.
