Default Quick oil change - am I risking my car?

I am changing engine oil every 3-5K miles so naturally I am looking for ways to make my life easier.

Here it what I did:

1.Removed completely that big plastic cover under the engine.

2.Installed a Fram Sure Drain plug (see link below) so I don't need to remove the drain plug each time.

Am I risking my car or engine? Any better solution?

The car is 2002 Quatro Coupe and most of the driving is done at Northern CA (no snow, salt, etc).

Thanks,

Default Nothing wrong using a quick drain plug... but don't leave the belly pan off..

Just put it back on when done.

Default Fram? No idea... the Fumoto is tried & true, and pretty inexpensive.

2nd the comments on the belly pan... it's there for a slight margin of protection but mainly for aerodynamics, to direct airflow THRU the ICs and radiators (rather than around), and for sound deadening. The oil service interval is 10K which is totally fine for synthetic so I see no reason to skip this step.
