Post Oil Cooler and Phenolic Spacer install observations........
Before I started my long list of winter mods I took some notes on oil temps and intake manifold temps. Today I was able to take these same readings while the outside temperature was the same. I ran the car for the same amount of time in basically the same location, hitting the same speeds, with the same outside temp of 32-degrees.
Pre-install of these mods I had recorded Oil temps at 225-degrees. With the oil cooler install I am hitting a high of 200-degrees (fan not on). My Intake Manifold temps pre-Phenolic Spacer ranged from 106 to 110-degrees. Today I recorded between 77 and 83-degrees.
Of course none of this is exact or perfect in terms of an experiment. With that said the car is running very strong and these mods have made a noticable difference in performance.

Oil cooler is a must for anyone tracking their car
Never really saw much over 260 on the A4 at the track but would regularly have to scale back with the TT once the car topped 280. I just didn't feel comfortable pushing it with those temps. Post oil cooler install I've yet to get much beyond 260 on the hottest of days. Definitely a worthwhile mod.
