TT got flatbed treatment this weekend......any ideas what can be wrong??

Default TT got flatbed treatment this weekend......any ideas what can be wrong??

I pulled away from a light on Friday evening and all of a sudden it was like I was trying to drive at 20mph in 6th gear, no power and less by the second. I managed to get the TT off the road and just as I pulled onto a side street the engine died. When I turn the key, it starts, then sputters and stalls within about 10 seconds. No CEL or anything else to indicate anything is up. Had the car towed to a nearby Audi specialist and we'll see what they find out. Anybody here had anything similar happen??

I have 65K miles on an 01 Roadster and yes, had the TB changed about 7K ago.

Default At TT East my car stalled at speed..... thought it was the battery but turned out it was the engine

speed sensor. Car started again with a different battery (which we originally thought was the cause as I had replaced it just prior to TT East due to similar stalling) but then sputtered and died after idling for a bit. Car never turned over again. We realized it wasn't a dead battery issue then and it was flatbedded to the closest dealership - the next state over. Yippee! Where they diagnosed it as a $90 part that was on the fritz. Hopefully that is your issue and not a poor TB install gone bad!

Default Not with those symptoms...

Coilpack failures mean misfires, and the car will still run. Just not well.

Default the CEL would normally blink in that situation, wouldn't it? i had one coilpack go out

and the CEL was blinking and car was rough at idle...but i could still drive it. to keep that car from burning out the cats, i unplugged the injector to the bad coilpack to keep from destroying my cats.

could you be out of gas? the fuel senders and inst. clusters are known to be flaky.
