strange boost spikes...

Default strange boost spikes...

I've been driving with a CEL for a while now, the car occasionaly goes into limp mode (5psi) but comes out as soon as the car is turned off then on again. I've also been experiencing real high boost spikes around 17-20 psi with stock software and no boost machine connected. I was suspecting the N75 not sure if this is the right road, but I was going to check the hoses today. Is there anything else I can replace or where is the best place to buy a new valve all together?

Default Find out what's wrong before throwing parts at it....>

N75's rarely fail. Pull the codes. Otherwise you're just guessing, and guessing wrong I'd bet...

I've had similar problems with Revo. Seems to be some sort of conflict between the Revo upgrade and whatever makes this thing run.No error codes at all to provide hints. Revo people could'nt help so now I'm doing some research into alternatives.

Default long term air/fuel>>>

It was a autozone scan and I don't know anyone who is home from college with a VAG. I did new: temp sensor, MAF, fuel filter, and just did the vac. lines for the N75. If I don't get this fixed by friday i have an appointment to goto Tyrol Sport on Long Island, some of you might know Mike he is a great guy. I'd like to get these problems resoved and Giac chipped. If anybody had experienced this before I'd rather save the money and do the work myself. Thank you for the quick responces too.

Default Normally MAF related.....

Unplug it and see how it runs..If it's bad, it should run fine unplugged as the ECU defaults to some pre-built fuel maps..

Default thanks, when I go for the drive home tonight I will try that out>>

This is the second new MAF I have had in the car. The original MAF with 50k on it I cleaned and got 500 more miles out of it. The MAF I ordered first did not work, and the one in the car now is a replacement from the same company FCP Groton located in CT. Should I just order a new MAF from ECS Tuning or another reliable site if the CEL goes away when I unplug the MAF?

Default The CEL won't go away when you unplug, but..>>

You can check Block 32 with a VAG to determine if it is bad. Sounds like these guys are selling junk parts.....

Right now it will go in and out as I said, when unplugged will it go into limp at all? Or should it?
