Default New to TT Forums...

Hi All,

After 6 happy months of ownership and reading from all of you I have decided to say HI! I didn't want to post any noob questions I live in San Diego, CA. I purchased an 01 225 6speed coupe, blk/blk. I love the car!!! Its a big change for me as my last car was an NSX.I am a big motorhead and cant seem to keep a car for longer than 2 years.... I hope this changes with the TT I have always loved the TT looks and style. I am also a big turbo fan so I am hoping to have some fun with this car!

I must say that you are all very informative and friendly... its great to see! Thank you for the shared knowledge I have gotten from all of you. Its already helped me with several small cel's and fixes.

I look forward to knowing you all better!

Cheers,
-Brad

Default Serioulsly.. you prefer this car over the Acura NSX.. Why ?

I have driven an NSX..incredible sports car and built solidly. If given a choice between a TT and NSX, I'll take the NSX any time.

NSX was a good car for what is was... just seriously underpowered. Handling was way too touchy and difficult to correct. Other than that it was a pleasant car to drive. I suppose I created my own "hate" for the car with all of the mods I did to it in the end... ended up twin turbo'ing the car and the reliability went to the crapper after that. The car also got a lot of negative attention too... people following me home to ask "what kind of car is that" and so on. Also was keyed twice and spit on all of the time in parking lots. Too many jealous people out there

The TT is just an AWESOME car for all that is has to offer! I cant wait to start getting her all together

Default I didnt think the NSX was underpowered. Handling was phenomenal.

A stock NSX is still faster than the 225 TT Quattro..I dont understand how the NSX would be underpowered; specially if you turboed it? The one I drove was the earlier model and with the lesser horsepower. Nevertheless, engine sounded like an F1 and the handling is just great.

Default My borther also had an NSX back in the early to mid 90's.....

I agree that the early ones were a little under powered for the type of car it was. What the car lacked in power it made up for in less weight with the all alluminum body, and what I thought was great handling. I think I put more miles on it than my brother did. Anytime he would ask me to do something for him, I would simply say as long as I can take the NSX. And it usually worked. I still like those cars even now, ofcourse I would have to buy a newer one with more power. I do recall getting asked questions everytime I drove it. I couldn't even go pick up a pizza without a group of people wanting to come and check out the car. Luckily the car never received the bad attention that yours did. Maybe just the area that you live in. Anyway hope you enjoy the TT and welcome.
