Suspension question, or not....>>>

My car has been making some strange sounds lately backing up. Whenever I back up I hear a faint popping sound. The car does not do this going forward, only backing up going to work, coming home, etc...I had the oil changed last week and the mechanic said that the inner right CV boot had a very, very small tear in it. Related possibly to this sound? If so, is a CV Boot replacement a DIY job, and, if so, how much for parts from other than the stealership?

Is it making the noise when your turning the wheel backing up? Or just straight back?

I've had similar problem for a year or more now

I've had my shocks and the bushing changed out since (for performance reasons) and I'm still hearing it. My mechanic didn't find anything when he looked.

search about my suspension issues...

I wish you luck. I've never had quiet suspension for more than 2k miles. I've learned to live with the very same pop you are describing. Until something is physically worn to the point that it can be diagnosed properly, you're just doing guess work.

CV boot with a tear? I would get this checked out>>>

you could ahave a CV joint that has gone dry and starting to fail.

I'd check out the CV joints..

Find a parking lot and have someone else drive your car in a tight slow circle around you in each direction. If it's a CV you'll hear a popping/clicking type noise from the failing side.
