Default OK, another spacer n00b question concerning bolt length >>

I want to space out my stock 17" six spokes, 10mm front and 20mm rear. Stock wheel bolt is ball seat, 27mm length. ECS has 47mm bolts which are perfect for the rear but for the front the choices are 35mm (2mm short of perfect) and 40mm (3mm long). Which do I go with? I'm thinking 35mm but want to be sure before I order.

Default Actually the stock ones are.....>>

28mm so go for the 40's on the front. Only 2mm long...a little extra thread contact which is good..

Default Well I just pulled one out and measured it >>

Looked like closer to 27 than 28 but hard to tell for sure.

I was just concerned that having too long would interfere with something on the inside of the hub.

I'll go with 40. Thanks.

If you go too long (like way too long) you'll make contact with the ABS wheel speed sensor = bad.

Default Steve's right - 28mm. You should get the longer ones and cut them >

watch the rears though - depends on the STYLE of spacer - thicker ones bolt directly to the hub, and with a 20mm spacer you may end up with a 23mm lug nut. Call ECS and discuss!!

Default I was going with the H&R Trak+ DR series spacer >>

That requires a bolt through both the wheel and spacer to hold it to the hub. Looks as if 25mm and larger bolt to hub first then wheel bolts to spacer

Default TT doesn't use bolts...

unless you're nuts. It uses machine screws.

(If it's got a nut, it's a bolt. Everything else is a screw.)

Default I think you have a screw loose :->

Besides if I'd have said wheel screw no one would have known what I was talking about. Seriously, you may be correct by the dictionary definition but the common usage for this application is "bolt". It's a minor technicality as far as I'm concerned. Maybe you can get ECS Tuning to correct their page.

Wheel Bolts for TT

Default For future reference anyone tracking or searching >>

ECS confirms 40mm is correct length for 10mm spacer and 47mm is correct for 20mm.
