Default VTDA & **** Installed!!

Stayed home this morning to wait for FedEx arrival. They usually show up around 10am.

While I was waiting I got things ready:

It's here!
<img src="http://static.flickr.com/47/131384680_3e63969768_o.jpg" alt="VTDA Pack" />

Unwrapped, looks good:

Installed:

All buttoned up ready to go for a drive:

No issues with the install. Very easy. Only somewhat hard part was swapping the 3-bar for 4-bar FPR. I must've had to soak up all the fuel in the fuel rail to empty the cup before I could install the 4-bar. I managed to reuse the hose clamp.

Default Yes, very happy!

It makes the rear of the car feel nice and firm. Improves the straight line feel as well as cornering ability by reducing roll. I have it set in the middle position. No down side that I can tell. Highly recommended. Ask anyone here.

Default Impressions...

First thing you notice is the sound the VTDA makes. WOOOSH! It's really only noticeable under acceleration, no added intake noise when just cruising at speed.

Seat of pants feel - as one would expect/hope there seems to be an increase of available power/torque across the range. It's more noticeable in the 3000-4000 rpm range. I can jump from say 60 to 80 mph very quickly with just a light touch of the gas. Very useful on the highway and for passing. Not that much additional from a stand still but then I'm usually very conservative in the stoplight launching dept.

I drove about 60-70 miles with the 4-bar FPR in before I "hammered" it. A third gear pull and I was greeted with stuttering/surging at around 4500 rpm. I've driven another 100 or so miles but have not had a chance to try it again. Problem may still be there. I got some sort of lambda sensor fault on the VAG-COM. Cleared it. Block 32 adaption was at 0%. I'll try another hard run again tonight and pull codes. No problems in just normal driving.

Of course my avg. MPG and miles till empty on the cluster was all messed up. I'm trying 110 in the channel 3 adaption for now.

Default Ummm...stuttering is usually a weak MAF....>

O% adaptation? Are you using a shareware version that won't read that block? That does not sound normal as things are never 0% there...

Default I know that seemed odd to me too...

No its the real deal, latest verson, HEX-USB cable. Maybe I was reading it wrong. Is it a dynamic constantly updating value that has to be read or logged with the car running or can it be read with the car parked and not started?

I'm on my second MAF. I had the original replaced on the recall about 18 months ago or so. I haven't noticed any issues with it before. I did some logging of the MAF #s post Samco install and they looked OK. I also have a VW MAF P/N: 06A906461A that I could try just to see.
