Default Forgive my noobness, for I am young and fragile.

But I have a simple question about putting aftermarket wheels on the TT. I have ordered some new 18'' wheels from tirerack and I was just wondering if there's anything else I need to buy to make them fit properly, or will I just be able to jack up the car and bolt them on?

I'm assuming they just go on the car no prob. But...like I said...I'm a noob. And these are my first new wheels, ever.

I know spacers are highly recommended. Where can I buy them?

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Default i assume you bought tires as well ;-)

if so, you should be all set (i believe tirerack includes new lugs if necessary). what wheels did you order?

Default Just put them on...

Im assuming you bought wheels and tires. If thats the case just mount them on. Tirerack should have mounted and balanced those wheels/tires. If the wheels you got has the correct offset then you would not need spacers. However, check the center of the wheels if there is a "hubcentric ring" installed. Remember, wheels for you car must have the same dore diameter as the hub on your axles..

Default More info for those who asked:

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/74926/oz_tribe_evo_mtgh_ci3_l.jpg"></center><p>
I got the O.Z. tribe evo in graphite w/ matching lip. My tires are bridgestone potenzas on special...but I don't remember the exact model number off hand. They seemed to be mid-range in price. Yes I am having tirerack mount the tires for me, and I will make sure to torque them down, thank you.

I am assuming that since I bought them from tirerack then all the dimensions will be correct and should fit on fine. (The pic might be wrong because it's just the stock one from the tirerack website.)

Your tires might also have directional tread. Double check the sidewall.

Default Adam..

Hey man,

Nothing young and fragile about it, smart for asking, otherwise you'd be young and wasting money.

They look like nice wheels man. I had some OZ's on my A4 and they were sweet. On the heavy side, but sweet looking.

Do some searching here for the width of your spacers. They will help tremendously in the looks department by filling out the wheel well better, and may be a necessity if you upgrade your brakes down the road, or if these wheels have less clearance than stock.

Me and several others here have ordered from these guys with lots of successes. I didn't want two piece spacers (25mm) or wheels sticking out too much, so I went with 15mm front, 20mm rear, which worked out perfect for my (stock, ALMS) wheels. It depends on the wheel offset though, so you'll need to research this a bit here. Lots posted on this subject, and I think there may be an "offset calculator" around here somewhere. Not a real cheap thing though, 'cause you have to order longer bolts to go with the spacers too. Front and rear with bolts came out, appropriately enough, to $225.

Enjoy them and the car, and yeah, definitely post some pics.
Remember to wax them before you get 'em on to help make the brake dust easier to get off those spokes.

Cheers man,

Rich (Martin)<ul><li><a href="https://www.evolutionsports.com/products.cfm?catID=50">Evolution Sports TT spacers (5 x 100)</a></li></ul>
