Default 40k miles service help needed.
As far as I understand, 40k services includes:

air filter
pollen filter
spark plug
haldex fluid(which I don't need)
engine oil change (don't need)

what else is there?

where can I get the air filter, pollen filter and the spark plug? any particular brand I should use? thanks for helping out a newbie.

You can try ECS Tuning website. For spark plugs I used OEM Denso Iridium (they are not cheap). You can go to your local VW dealer and get those or oder online.

so... air clearner, replace filter element, replace spark plug, huh?

then why is the dealer charging me about $600??

how much does each part cost? all three of them are pretty much doable by yourself right?

i know there is a write-up on pollen filter replacment in faq. Don't know about others though.

it'd be very nice if there's a write up for temp sensor replacement too. anyone know?

anyone local(silver spring, md) that can help me do this?

no, you have to do the 10K and 20K things at 40K as well.

or should i do whatever I can and then go to dealer for less.

Default personally i'd do it all myself....
most of it is easy... if you're not sure about the haldex service have a shop or the dealer do that for you.

Default i don't need haldex service because mine's FWD
and i've decided that i'd do most of the stuff instead of going to the dealer.
