Weird..Got in the car today and my gas gauge needle is bouncing up and down
Today was a hot day about 77 degrees. Got in the car and not the key is not even in the ignition as I noticed the gas gauge needle doing a little "dance" for me. I sat inside the heat of the car amused by this phenomena. I sat there for a couple of minutes almost laughing at what Im seeing. Then the humor stopped as I realized the several posts I have seen about failing clusters. It even got less funny thinking the fix for the cluster is like $700+. Then it got downright ugly realizing I may not even have that $700 in a few months because of a guy name Prashant is learning my job to take back to IBM in India. I swear, I just want to kick this car sometimes.

and sure enough, they got worse."
It may only be the fuel sending unit. Try the TTSchwing Chevron techron with techroline treatment. Maybe it will settle down.
If not, and you don't want to spend $$ to fix, figure out how many miles per week you drive before fueling, and fill up based on mileage, not the gas guage.

Actually the gauge is way off. I go by the digital readout on how many miles I have left till empty (that seems to be accurate). So this means it may be the sending unit? I dumped two bottles of Techron on a near empty tank on it already with no luck.

I had the EXACT same problem a few weeks ago....
Not a bad cluster; but a dirty fuel level sender. I thought i would have to take it out and clean it; but with the advice of schwing and a few others I ran few tanks of chevron techron fuel injector cleaner and it was fixed.
