Default Dog bone poly review & Creativity Award for the week (maybe month)

I am quite impressed with the poly mounts. They made more of a difference than I was expecting. Starts are smoother and there is a much more positive transition of power between shifts. Gone is the flex during shifts, and it is quite nice. I'm not noticing the extra engine vibration others have mentioned. Very well worth the very low cost of this mod.

On to the creativity...

So I finally figured out a way to hold the dog bone (since I don't have a vice here) so I could remove the center bolt holding everything together. The tools - dog bone, 3/4"x8" metal pipe, scraper, two zip ties (for initial hold), hose clamp, and a Jeep bumper...

I love my Jeep. =)

Default honestly, no. a vice is pretty much a must-have to remove and replace.

with the vice i would have saved at least thirty minutes out of the two-ish hours i worked on it.

Default What I did...Didnt have the vice or the creative spike sooooo>>>

I replaced the big biscuit but left the smaller one in place. The slop left by the the old smaller biscuit allowed me to reassemble by hand, without the advantage of a vice.

Drove around for a week or so until I got around to purchasing a vise and dropping the bellypan again.

When I took it apart to rectify, I discovered that the big biscuit had compressed enough that I didnt need the vise to get the small biscuit in..... go figure. Wanna buy a vise? j/k

Dan
