Default Is anyone familiar with "WheelWax"? It's marketed for

wheels, and Amercan Racing's name is on it, but is it any different than the wax used on the rest of the car? Is it a thicker paste or something?

I just bought new wheels and want to start them off right? Does anyone have proven recommendations? How does regular (zymol) wax work on wheels?

Thanks, Chris.

Default I have never waxed wheels. I just wash them when I wash the car to remove the brake dust...

I have seen a Mother's product and buffer advertized in Automobile Magazine.

Default Clay bar and wax wheels as like you would the rest of the car, they are clear coated.

If you start doing this now with new wheels and maintain them with wax, they will be very easy to clean and the finish will last much longer.

As far as "WheelWax", never had experience with it and I just use the same wax that I use on the regular finish. Zymol should be just fine.

Default It's more of a preventative maintenance thing. Makes for easier cleaning and

protects the finish from corrosive brake dust.

Default I don't find that Wheel Wax has any better effect on wheels than other waxes>>

including Zymol, though for longevity's sake, you may want to use something a little tougher considering where it's being used.

Default AFAIK it is harder wearing than regular wax

It was originally developed to wax trucks (think long distance drives with limited chances to wash) for protection rather than show. It was later packaged as wheel wax. I would not use it on my paint because it doesn't have the same clarity as a good wax but it should be better for wheels because it is harder wearing, relative to regular wax.

just like the rest of my car. Do it once a year. Never used wax on my wheels.

Default it does remove road grime fairly well. easy on, easy off. but i agree with other waxes

doing an equally good job. i use wheelwax for a quick clean...and when the wheels are off the car (swapping winter --> summer), i wax them with regular ole wax, which is easy to apply and clean.
