Help, can this be a 1 man job?
I put the rear right spacer and wheel on w/out problems. I'm trying to do the front right, and the rotor keeps turning.
Why did the rear rotor not turn, and only the front one?? How can I do this? I don't have anyone to help me, do I need to have someone else there?
If anyone feels like calling so I can get this done asap (before it gets dark, i have no garage), that would be cool. 216-870-2482
poor planning? let's just say i didn't know any better
Get in car and put on the brakes. Block the brake pedal into position with some heavy object.
That may work.
O(r find a neighbor to help. Have the person depress the brake pedal while you put the spacer and wheel on.
I am not in gear, should I be? Also because the parking break was on, that helped the rear wheel's spacer. Did that damage the parking brake--me hand torqing the spacer on?
My winter wheels don't require a spacer.
When you put the screws in, just get them snug. You don't torque them down fully until the tire is back on the ground.
I hear ya on the 1st gear part, but for the final torquing, the wheel has to be off of the spacer to access the lugs

Unless it's not a spacer, but an adapter, which is a different thing altogether, and is used not only as a spacer, but to change the bolt pattern.
The picture is a spacer.
If you have adapters, you should have a second person to engage the brakes so you can torque them to the hub without stressing the drivetrain.

I am just alone here, and the only thing I can think to do at this point is to put it in gear.
What do they do at the shops when they jack it up? They must have someone hold on to the rotor i guess
