Big thumbs up for BBA Remanufacturing >>>
At this point, I don't expect it to stop working properly so I would highly recommend them to anyone. Hell, they had it fixed before I even expected the package to be delivered. They charged me the standard $250 ... much better than the $700 + labor others have been quoted by the dealer.
Thanks BBA!

* 1/4" T20 torx bit
* 1/4" bit driver (screw driver that accepts 1/4" bits)
* socket wrench
* 3" socket extension
* 1/4" socket
* needle nose pliers
* flat tip screw driver
* about 5 minutes
1) Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. (I didn't do this, but I should have ... always good to cut the power when working on electronics.)
2) Open the driver's side door. Carefully pop off the fuse panel cover plate.
3) Using the T20 bit in the bit driver remove the screws labeled "2" on the right side of the picture.
4) Put the 1/4" socket on the extension and on the wrench. Put the T20 bit in the socket ... you now have a tool to remove the "2" screw on the botom of the picture.

5) Put the bit back in the driver and remove screws labeled "2" on the below picture. You can see them if you stick your head way down in the foot well on the driver's side.

6) Grab the lower dash and pull towards the driver's seat. It will take a good tug to release the lower dash. The three clips holding on the dash are labeled "4" above. The lower dash can just hang there.
7) Use the steering wheel adjuster to pull out and lower the steering wheel. This should expose two torx screws holding in the cluser (labeled "1" below). Either the person building my car or a stupid dealer tech broke a tab on my cluser so I only had one screw holding my cluster in.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36092/cluster.jpg">
8) Once you remove those screws the cluster can be pulled out some. This should allow you to access three wiring harnesses. There are levers that lock the wiring harnesses in place. You can use the flat tip screw driver to release the levers. The wiring harness on the left side is attached to the back of the cluster with a plastic rivet. Use the needle nose pliers to pull the rivet pin out.
9) Your cluster is now free to be wrapped and sent to BBA!
