U must be doing something wrong then. Plenty of soapy water and it's easy.

Default It's not hard, it's tedious.

moving a 2" square across the entire surface of the car takes time. Only took about 4hrs this time, usually takes about 6. The paint seemed to be in better shape this year than last.

Default It's a labor of love...

But I second fred's suggestion!

Really, I'm not too perfectionistic when it comes to the clay. If you get the bigger areas pretty well, it's not like you're shafting the car and not putting enough work into it, I mean you're going to wax it all anyway. The fact that you're using the clay at all means you're doing a fantastic job. I used to be super perfectionistic with the clay, like it was wax, and now I clay the whole thing in about 15-20 minutes. Well, it *is* easier after it's been done before, 'cause there's not as much grit, and you've had the experience of doing it before. It's gonna look (and feel) sweet man, enjoy!

Default right, but I think it speaks to how important it is.

you really don't want to be rubbing all that grit into the surface while waxing. I always re-clay before I wax now.
