Default Instrument Cluster Mod completed

The wife lets me do what I want to her car which is great because I have yet to find my allroad 6 speed to mod.

Seen this stuff on ebay and thought her car would be a perfect test for the mod.

<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt10.jpg">
This is Carbon Fibor vinyl that is peel and stick<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt9.jpg">
Hardest part is trimming the small edges for the turn signal indicator<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt8.jpg">Put the trim rings back in for clean edge finish<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt7.jpg"><img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt6.jpg">Had this gauge face sitting around for over a year but never put it in before. Perfect time to do this mod as well.<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt5.jpg">FINISHED PRODUCT.<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt1.jpg">Still need to reset the time and date<img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt2.jpg"><img src="http://www.tylersquarterly.com/pc/tt3.jpg">

Default Wow, looks great! I've been thinking about something like that myself.

How long did it take?

Default 30 min to remove from car, 1hr to disassemble, trim and reassemble, 30 min back in the car

not too bad of a job. Had a tough time with the gauge needle for the fuel and temp because they do not have rest pins but rather park on the inside of the face trim when assembled. Need to use dental floss to hold them up while you put the face trim back on.

Wife likes the look, says its like having a whole new car. Simple creatures, haha.

does not return to the sides, trimmed it to the face. I don't think it will blister as it is vinyl and I tested a piece that stretched to twice its length before tearing. I used a heat gun to make sure the adhesive had highest contact strength. Worst case, I just have peal it off, but I'll keep you guys informed with how it holds up
