2003 225 QC MAF? Where to order, what should I expect to pay?
I looked on ECS which seems to be where a lot of people said they're getting theirs'... but what version of it? The one for AMU engines? Do I need to look up my engine code? What should I expect to pay? What's the best place to get one?
Reman Audi MAF part number: 06A 906 461 EX ($120)
VW 2.0 MAF part number: 06A 906 461 A ($55)
No reason to get the $300 version unless you are under warranty (MAFs are good for 7 years 70K I believe). The EX would be the best choice, although I have been running the VW 2.0 MAF with great success. Others have had varying success with that MAF. ECS or World Impex would be my recommended places to purchase.
On your engine code, you should look on the passenger side of the engine, it's stamped in plain view.
Photo below shows 2.0 at bottom, stock MAF at top.

Also, be sure to check your engine code before ordering a MAF. The BEA engine code uses a 06A 906 461 M(X), while the AMU uses the 06A 906 461 E(X).
I would use the remanufactured units (with the X at the end), as it seems there is better quality control from the factory on these...

As far as the engine codes, if you plan to order the EX MAF, make sure the MAF you order is for the correct engine code in your car (see Tom's post).
