Default 3.2 DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code)!

Well I drove down to Wasilla from Tok (just over 300 miles) and came to my destination. As I was unloading my luggage I let the car "cool down". After I was done, I noticed the engine started to sputter/hesitate. So taped on the throttle and instead of going up and coming down right after, it stayed up at about 2100 rpms. Right at that moment, I heard a chime and saw the check engine light come on.

So I posted on AKEURO.com and asked if someone could hook me up with a VAG COM (I think that's going to me my next "mod". A member on the forum met up with me and used his DTC. The codes that came up were P0507, P2187 & P2189.
We found out what P0507 was which is Idle Control System Higher than Expected.

As for the rest, I have no clue (It wasn't in his book). So I came back and searched for it online and found similar DTC's but rather than a 2 after the P, there's a 1. They are...

P1187 Linear 02 Sensor / Compens. Resistor Open Circuit

P1189 Linear 02 Sensor / Compens. Resistor Short to B +

Can someone check on the P2187 & P2189 for me? & do you think when I take it into the Audi dealership they'll blame it on the VTDA intake that I have? If so, I'll get my roommate back up in Tok to Express it down to me before I take it in. Also, here's another dumb questions...is this covered under warranty (if they don't end up blaming it on the air intake)?

Default KC....My generic Code look-up says...>

2187 and 89: System too lean at idle (bank 1 and bank 2)

1187 and 89: Fuel air metering..

Got a Vac leak somewhere? Could also be a MAF. Might try cleaning to start..

If you still have access to the VAG, check Block 32 for adaptation values for the MAF

Default KC - I'm coming up with nothing on my new version of the Bentley manual. :-(

Although IMO the VTDA in no way is related, you never know what the dealer will say.

Default What do you think they service lady will say?

I forgot her name. But she's nice. Do you think she will blame it on the intake?

Default Her name is April. If as Steve mentioned it is the MAF, they might blame the intake (incorrectly).

I would check block 32 and post up what your partial throttle value is.

Default Yeah the guy (Jon) that hooked up his DTC...

called me back and said the same thing. I wouldn't know where to start searching though the dealership would be the best deal. Although I'm thinking of putting the OEM air intake back on just in case they get dumb.

Before I call Jon back up...do you think his DTC can do that or will I need a VAG?

Default Sounds like the MAF. If taking it to the dealer is a hassle then just clean it..>

Then see if it comes back or its something else. Get the VAG-COM asap..Even if you get the cheapy version for $70 its worth it..
