in the hub on most cars? to make a long story short, the wheel hanger/wheel guide tool got stuck in one of the bolt holes on my dad's car, and it stripped the threads. he's going to take the car somewhere tomorrow, but I was just wondering if this is a simple fix or if it's going to be a big mess. thanks guys.

Default sounds like the threads just got buggered. by retapping it...should be able to fix it

if its not all messed up. the wheel hanger if stainless, would/could screw up the threads if put on incorrectly, but correct me if i'm wrong...there's only a few turns on it, how can you thread it all the way in crooked?

Default Might be easiest just to replace the hub....

...if it's really messed up...by the time he pays for the labor to retap it. It seems they'd have to use a larger diameter bolt after the retap. ... I could be wrong though.

Default i don't think it's all messed up (thankfully!)

the guide pin is aluminum, so i'm hoping that it just got all chewed up from the threads. also, you're right, it only screws in a few threads, so it shouldn't go all the way in if it's crooked...
