Default 10 to 12 hours to install Coilovers, Full K-Mac, Rear Sway, Bearings and Bushings??..>>

So I got an estimate today to install a set of Koni Coilovers, Full K-Mac, Rear Sway, Bearings and Bushings. I was told it would take about 10 to 12 hours plus the alignment. The guy said the K-Mac was the toughest part.

Does 10 to 12 hours sound right? And how much is a typical alignment?

Thanks!

Default it definitely should not take that long

the k-mac bushings really aren't that to do with the bushing extractor tool they give you with the set.

my alignment cost ~$90 i think

I did it myself (except alignment) in less time than that.

Default You may want to get estimates by price rather than time...>>

I obtained three estimates to install new suspension, RSB, 1/2 K-MAC, spacers (no charge obviously) and an alignment at three different shops and they came within $25 of each other.

10-12 hours seems a bit long.... 6-8 hours sounds right...

Around $100 for an alignment...

Maybe it takes 3-4 hours for the crack to wear off.

K-Mac was the toughest part? Take your car to somebody else.

Default if you have the proper tools...

the rears should take about 1.5 hrs per side
and the front 2hrs per side.. and that is conservative..
you are getting quoted too high..

Default bearings = upper strut mounts? what do you mean by bushings? control arm?

here's how I see it breaking down

4 hours = coilovers

1 hour = rear sway

2 hours = full KMAC

2 hours = front control arm bushings

Now before anyone flames me saying they could do this faster, I'm just quoting what I think a shop would charge for these items individually. Since it's all being done at once, you should definitely get a break. Sounds like they're just adding up the labor amounts inividually. For something like this, if you don't want to do it yourself, shop it around with shops you trust, and see where you get the best VALUE (note I didn't say lowest cost-- VALUE means considering all things-- trustworthiness of the shop, convenience, etc)

If you're near GA I'll do it for half their quote. =)
