I just ordered new RH AG Cup wheels 18x8.5 18x10 What size tires should I be getting
I have 2001 Roadster Quattro in PA.
I was looking at the 17' but like the look of the 18".They won't arrive for about 8 weeks on backorder till then.What is the tire size I should runon the 18".
I know on the 17"
17x8=245/45/17
17x9=275/40/17 these sizes will give me an overall
diameter of 25.7
Is this right?
18x8.5=225/40/18
18x10=255/35/18 I was looking at the BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW but with their tire sizes it would come out in the sizes listed as an overall diameter of 25.1 up front and 25.0 on the rear. Will this cause any problems?
Any input from anyone would be great.

Be careful with 225s on a 8.5" rim. The diameter is not the only dimension you should be looking at.
I ordered a set of Falken Ziex ZE-512 225/40ZR18 tires fitted to 5zigen/fn01r-c 18x8.5 wheels and they looked like shi#. The reason is that the tread width is only 7.7" (taken from the Falken website) (although 225mm is supposed to be 8.9") and the rim width is 8.5". The wheels stick out like sore thumbs. I changed my order to 235/40ZR18 tires which have a tread width of 8.2". Haven't received them yet to tell you what they look like but they should be a big improvement. The down side of the 235s is that the diameter increases to 25.5". I'm not sure if this "short" tread width is peculiar to Falken or if it applies to all tires.

That is what I was going to go with!
but i got a deal on the 17's..... I have the 17x8 with a 225-45-17 BFG G-Force Sports no tire stretch what-so-ever... I think you will be fine running that on a 8.5 width wheel!
