despite what i hear bad about AUDI it seems there a VERY few problems talked about on this TT forum. in fact my 2002 TT has been great. only things is a bad coolant sensor and my dash needles have gone crazy like twice for a few seconds. i bought it with 50000 and it now has 56000 (have not put many miles on it). i am moving from cleveland to NY and i am going to use it for the long commute back and forth once ot twice a month 900 miles each time. i just wanted to comment that i come to this forum every day and i see very, very little talk about these cars having any major problems (compared to the other car forums i visit) and its great. i want to keep my "classic" TT for a long time to come.

Default yup. and those that have had bad coilpacks ALWAYS carries a few spares in the trunk, along

with minimum tools to replace them on the road when they do go bad.

Default Yup need to get some spares now, BTW is there any good way to tell.......

if you're on the road without a vag, which one is failing? Maybe pull the coil plug one at a time to see if it runs worse?

Default There are two main reasons that problems aren't reported as much . . .

1. Most of the problems are old-hat now, and you can easily find out solutions with a search.

2. If you complain ever so slightly too much about your TT, then some of the people here get really defensive and start telling you things like, "feel free to sell it and good riddance," etc. I had that happen not fun!

However, make no mistake -- TT's are notoriously unreliable. It's just a fact of life. Mine is one of the worst, I think, but when I can afford to I'm still going to rebuild and soup the hell out of it 'cause it's fun to drive and oh-so-pretty!

Default Buy a 2006... Audi has corrected most problems ...

From all the research I have done, Audi has put considerable effort into revamping the TT's technology, quality, and engineering since 2000. The pre 2005 models are known for their problems... and that's ALL Audis... But it's a whole new ballgame since 2005. The only thing left to address is electrical engineering in the future models.
