Default Finished My Battery Relo and dropped dead weight

First I have quite a few parts for sale check out my add... in the classified section, I'm replacing all my Gauges and Pods.

As for my battery relo some of you may remember a week ago when I had the car up in the air, had dropped the tail of the car, and pulled the ballast off the end, only to find that I did not have the cables for the battery relo kit, which I had planned on doing at the same time?
Well the cables came in this week and I was able to finishing the battery relo. I love all the space in the engine bay, and will be looking at modifying the intake to take advantage of the space.

I also am considering using the space for a remote oil filter and 1qt acusump mount. Haven't decided yet. Anyone have any expierience with th 1Qt model?

<a href="http://classifieds.audiworld.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi?db=autoparts&website=&lang uage=&session_key=447b2256342f5d98&search_ and_display_db_button=on&db_id=26283&resul ts_format=long&query=retri

Default Wow, looks real empty in there. I would also like to move my battery to the rear.

A nice write-up with pictures and where all the little fuses on top of the battery went would also be good.

Default Pics of the Relo Front and Trunk

Sorry, I was out of batteries.. Got it now.. I still have some clean up to perform another weekend. I want to do some edgeing on the rear deck, I also want to change up the way the cable connects in the front. With an Optima you would not need this sealed case. I utilized the sealed case so I could retain the old battery, running the vent was easy along with the pos / neg, It was just a time consuming process.

Default Man, another 20% loss in trunk space... Can you get to the spare tire without removing

the battery? How/where did you run the +/- cables?

Default that is a loss in space...

ive got a coupe so it wouldnt be vissualy appealing for me. I still havent checked if the battery will fit where the rear seats were....maybe some wood working next weekend will be fun. any chance you can trick your mind into feeling a difference or is it really there?

Default Still room for my suitcase :)

One to three weeks a month I am on the road and need room for my suitcase in the trunk and laptop bag. The loss of space for me is not an issue.

For looks I was considering a smaller battery and making my own sealed unit. This box was really big. I was also considering when this battery dies to replace it with an Optima which does not need to be sealed and could be placed at an angle etc.

Another year or so and I'll probably change this around. The driver is my battery life.

Default The spare tire is accessible, but painful

You can't see it but I cut the underside of the trunk floor to allow for it to hinge, this allows me to open it and get to the spare. Mindful of the fact that it won't be fun to get to by anymeans...I left extra cable lenght in the trunk to allow me to actually pull the box completely out of the trunk while the battery is still attached.

As for cables, if you pull your fender covers you'll see a couple of 1/2' holes ready to be punched, they are about one in down from the other cables that are runing through that wall on both fenders. I simply made them 3/4 and added my grommets. I followed the brake lines all the way up from the rear on the drivers side. Not too woried about the weight driver vs passenger side as I pulled my 37lb ballast off the drivers side and pulled my 35lb battery off the drivers side and relo'd to passenger. The 5~7lbs of copper on the drivers side won't kill me.

Default It's a stock battery and was replaced right before the end of my...

warranty, so I really wasn't ready to toss it for an optima at this point.
