Anybody here ever play with air/water intercooling...
I've been looking into the idea for the last few weeks. Found a website that sells small cores and all parts needed, some of which I'm sure can be sourced elsewhere for less.

The bassic setup seems to include a tank, core, pump, radiator. I was thinking the radiator could go where one of the sidemounts previously were located and the windshield wash resivour could be used as the tank.
The cost is about the same as a FMIC but there would be significaly shorter piping and maybe better cooling...along with the fact that you could pop some ice in there for fun every now and then.

It's a "Cool" idea....>>
Thought asbout it a lot due to the compactness of some of the cores available and it's general effectiveness... Complexity and packaging have held me back...that and the fact that i'm getting such good results out of my FMIC, Manifold insulators, and Misters. Air temps out of the FMIC are only 3-5 degrees C over ambient without even triggering misters. Cost Vs potential results don't work for me...When you're at 93% efficiency already on IC cooling it's hard to justify the cost..

I think I'm going to give this company a go this summer. We will have to compare results afterwards. You'll have to tell me your testing methods. I think the shorter piping will make the turbo create less pressure to cause the same amount of boost seen in the intake manifold, maybe faster spool up & a little less overal abuse. who knows, maybe ill just be the "special" kid on the short bus with a helmet
