Default I have emerged from the shadows...

Hello all. That cold dark feeling you've had the past year and a half, as though something was watching and following your every word...that was me. I have finally found THE car, and it only took me a year and a half of patience. This is my first post, it'll be a little long, but I can now say I am the proud owner of a 2001 225 TT with 32,000 miles on it. Love it. Anyway, thanks to all of you on the board for every question and comment, I have used every piece of your information to the fullest in acquiring my new baby. That being said, it's time to make her mine. The first thing I was hoping to do was remove the rear seats so as to possibly place some seat-rail extensions in her. I am 25, play semi-pro football, and am 6'5", 240lbs of linebacker force so extra room would be nice, as well as the weight reduction. The seat removal isn't necessarily my concern. What I am most curious about is the need/function of a new rear stress bar/strut brace. I do plan on tracking it every month or so when it's dry in Oregon. If anyone has any feedback on brand, alignment, material, etc. it would be most helpful. Thank you again to everyone, and I mean everyone, for all of your Q & A, you are more help than you can possibly imagine.

Default Don't have a solution for the rear seat delete, but welcome and congrats on the new ride!

Hope to see you at a future TT event. In fact, the current plans for TT-West 2007 are for southwest Oregon!

Default Welcome!

Sway bar upgrade to 19mm will make the handling more neutral and you'll be able to tell a big difference on the track. Most here use the Neuspeed available from shox.com, or ttstuff.com has it as well.

Scroll down to the 19mm sway bar.

Default Here are some thoughts....

You should have plenty of leg room. Remember that when you track the car, you want to be much closer to the steering wheel and the best everyday driving position would have you sit where your wrist joint is on top of the steering wheel.

I am also a big guy, but not quite as tall, and with a helment on and seat at lowest point, my helment just rubs the ceiling.

You can add a harness bar that goes where the rear seats latch and it will stiffen up the car. However, this is one very stiff car.

Stable Engergies Harness Bar

Default Congrats on the purchase. I'm also 6'5 and I find the stock seating adequate. Drop the seat down

and back all the way and tilt the steering wheel up and towards you all the way so that your knees clear the bottom of the wheel. That should give you enough room
