Default Chipping my 180 TT

Ok guys, decided to go with the APR chip for my 180 TT. I'd like to buy a second ecu and chip that one just so I have a backup. But reading APR's fine print, there seems to be some immobilizer clone programming that may be necessary. Is this hard to do? Has anybody here gone this route? What's your take on this and chip reliability?

APR for some time with zero problems. I have the flip switch to switch between stock and 93 programs

Default I've got APR as well Stock/91/100. All of the chips/flashes are pretty similar

Best to get one that you can get local support for.

Default Nothing is close to me -->

I'm out of luck for close support no matter who I decide to go with. (I live in central Canada). Do a lot of people require customer support after install?

I'm just worried of something going wrong (like the 'recalibration' period that you have to go through after installation seems kind of risky) This is my only car and I can't afford to have something break.

Don't get me wrong, I've decided to chip no matter what, but I just want to be sure that I'm picking the most reliable option.

Problems are rare. A few have needed to be reflashed from time to time.

I'm not too worried about reflashing. Its the added stress on other stock parts that may break or go nutty that makes me less confident. Labour and parts costs on repairs are killer around here since we only have one Audi dealer.

But, like I said, I've decided to take the plunge anyway and based on all the positive reviews and support as of late, I'm feeling a little better about it

I wouldn't worry about that. The 1.8 is amazingly strong with proper maintenance it will stay strong
