boost gone
2001 225hp roadster, all stock, 60k miles, daily driver:
Check engine light came on recently shortly after filling up with gas. At around the same time I noticed when accelerating there was none of the usually "kick" after 3k rpms. The light stayed on for awhile but went out completely after I filled up last time. Unfortunately, I still don't get the turbo kicking in on acceleration - it accelerates smoothly (so not normal) - Like watching Angelina Jolie with your mom in the room. Angelina looks hot but you can't do anything about it.
(sorry, I digress) There have been no other symptoms. No sounds. No smoke. No nothing except the CE light and (what I thought) was a bad tank of gas.
There are no Audi dealers close by (the old dealership nearby got rid of it's Audi franchise)so any time at the dealer is pretty much a complete day off for me taking it to the dealer, sitting, waiting, sitting...
Does this sound like a DV problem or sensor issue or something else entirely?

Sounds like you've gone into limp mode.. find someone with VAG-COM

Time to invest in a VAG-COM.
The answer is in your Check Engine light, we need to find out what triggered that. Without it there's a lot of guess work involved.
MAF, DV, boost leak, sensors, turbo, or something else entirely.

I looked through the list - thank you all for the reply with the links. I will get the codes and let you know how everything turns out. It's depressing not being able to feel the kick.

P1128 Long Term Fuel Trim-System to lean ( bank 1) &...
PO411 secondary air injection system (B2)-Incorrect flow. No expert here but my guess is a bad MAF.ECS tuning has them.Don't forget to clear the codes.
