Default Lateral Accelerometer on 2001 TTQR - Anyone able to help me identify where to find it?

It appears the accelerometers are in different places in different years, and I bet the Roadster and Coupe move around differently as well... Any assistance (including the P/N) would be appreciated.

Default My longitudinal was replaced recently, behind the glove box.

I think the lateral is under the driver side dash. (Not much help, but I also found that sometimes the sensors were combined and located in the same place.) Good luck Mike.

Default Re: Lateral Accelerometer .....I did a search in

Bentley came up with a lateral acceleration sensor which has one under each seat. Looks like you have to remove the seats and it's located under the capet.

All I could find, hope this helps.

Guess I will at least try to go CPO on this, and see how fast they turn it down...

Default The sensor is under both seat ... not sure this really what you're looking for?

has something to do with the air bags. Also a caution note about making sure no one is in the car when you connect the battery just in case the airbags open.

Default Under the driver's side dash, next to the steering column on our TTR 225. So I mistakenly replaced

the Longitude behind the glovebox - PITA to snap it back in since I did it through the small hole. This obviously did not fix my problem.

When I was installing the boost gauge last Thursday, I noticed the same part number, the same sensor next to the steering column.

Replaced it and Viola! ESP works now - it's only been about 3 years that I paid attention to it

But the wife said so, or she won't drive at in the track

So, on our TT, same part number "1J0 907 651 A" for both. And when I picked it up at the dealer, their ETKA shows that "1J0 907 651 A" supersedes the "1J1 907 638 B".

So they are the same part number (and what is it?)? Left or right of the steering column?
