Creaking over bumps. Is that almost always the sway bar(s)? I think it might be coming from rear.

Creaking over bumps. Is that almost always the sway bar(s)? I think it might be coming from rear.

Any chance it's just the worn rear OEM shocks? 2001 with 80k miles.

It could be the sway bar, but dude, get some shocks on that thing. Koni and Billstien are popular

You will not regret that mod at all. I run Koni sports and stock springs. Absolutely love it.

LOL....Those shocks are toast...

could be either but shocks don't usually squeak....

The shocks appear adequate for groceries.I'm just trying to kill a creaking noise.Fronts=Bilstein

I've tried hosing down the swaybar bushings with WD-40 but that doesn't even provide a temporary relief.

I had the creaking over bumps as well and it was the front sway bar...

Just had it replaced under warranty last week. Check it... the dealer even replaced my wiper blades free of charge.

The other suspension bits you might consider are

all the rubber bushings in the control arms. At 80k, I'll bet you've got some cracked ones. I was surprised how much smoother everything seems now that I replaced those, even though I had a 22mm front Neuspeed bar installed at the same time (along with a preexisting 19mm rear bar). I was sure that the new front bar would make things pretty stiff, but the new bushings more than compensated.

The creaking is from your sway bar bushings though. Neuspeed has some revised, slotted poly bushings that keep the lube in place. If you can spring for it, the front and reat bar combo is amazing.
