Transmission DoA

I have a 2000 TTQ 180hp with 85K miles. Last week, it decided to leave gear oil and metal shavings on route 495 on the way to work. The tranny is shot.
Anyone else had this kind of failure? I did a forum search but nothing came up.

it's rare.... if money is a factor, go used.

I've seen one as well.... it was an '02 180q... it just grenaded.

Drop in a 6 speed from the 225 - it's the SAME transmission

better yet, give me the 6 speed, and i give him my known good 5 speed. yes i am taking a risk...

but i'm just that kinda guy. ;-)

you have a fwd... should be able to use the 6-speed from the GTi 337

I was just on ekta getting a pn for the Q: ng!
I'll see what I can find tomorrow - the gti's not in my ekta; got any idea of the damage, 1k or so used, or less?
