Default APR 3' Exhaust upgrade

I am looking to modify a 225TTQ with APR software. I am being advised to also install the 3' Turbo back APR exhaust and higher flow airfilter. The exhaust system is pricy. Does anyone have any experience with this type of exhaust WITHOUT the Stage 3 or similar upgrades? I have read the threads regarding Del Rio vs APR, but that car includes lots of upgrades that I don't think I am ready for. the installer also told me that APR has software that in optimized for that exhaust system.

I'm thinking 3" is gonna be overkill for a chipped K04

Default If you are doing a ECU program for 91 octane exhaust is not needed.....

for the dollars spent the horsepower gain will be small--unless you just have to have the sound. Upgrade to a K&N air filter (or a modshack TTDA) and upgrade the DV valve.

Default You are being hustled....>

That exhaust is NOT needed for the mods you describe. A nice 2.5-2.75 Catback is all you need. APR (loud) or Blueflame (only $625) if you want something a little quieter and refined. On intakes, click my link below...VTDA is the hot set-up there..

If you plan on going with a BT, consider the 3". Otherwise, I wouldn't bother with it.

I believe that 3" with that setup will result in a performance loss over a smaller down pipe.

Default Have heard that the 3" exhaust is extremely loud. 2.5" is alot louder than most

any other exhaust.

You might want to hear one before installing it and shelling out big bucks.

Mine is indeed rather loud. It's a good loud, very raspy and deep, but definitely loud.

Default I have the APR 3" Turbo-back...definitely loud

Just yesterday I was hanging out with TT4eva and his Forge Exhaust. At idle, my car completely drowned out his exhaust to the point we didn't even know if his car was ON. :-)

When going slow or at highway cruising speeds (70mph), the exhaust is just fine. Low deep growl but not too loud. You can talk just fine over it.

But at morning startup, WOT, and some throttle-lift scenarios it get really loud.

I am extrmely happy with the exhaust, but I agree with others that you should try to listen to a few before buying.
