Did a quick search and had too many conflicting stories...radio code question!

My Batt went dead and had to jump start my vehicle. sure enough radio is in safe mode. went to get owners manual and dealer left radio code card empty. Made an appointment but now they want to remove the radio to get the code. Can the code be accessed with VAG reader? some say yes some say no...what is the right answer? it's the original Bose radio.

No.. dealer must send codes to Audi computer system to get the code back.

Not as simple as pulling it with a VAG. Does take time for dealer.. usually 1 hour labor.

Sorry...Need radio serial number..>>

Unless the selling dealer recorded it in the paperwork somewhere. (some write it on the label on top of the radio which defeats the security thing...you might look though.)
