Default Back with a couple new questions

I looked for a Brake Job Write-up and found this

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel25.shtml

It for an A4 but was referrd to as being for a TT. Can I use this for my 2000 1.8TT?

Can a person do the brake system flush without having to go to Audi?

I saw MarTT's Alpine radio installation write-up. I thought these cars could not operate without the stock Bose system because of the close ECO and Instrument cluster integration - so I was wrong?

The brake writeup looks about right. Though if you buy the right pads you can use the brake sensor rather than cutting it off.

The bleeding/flushing can also be done without Audi. If you have a VAG/COM or similar you can do as thorough a job as they will.

For the radio you were wrong. You just lose the integration with the cluster. However, if you have a BOSE system, you cannot replace the speakers without replacing the amp.

Hope that helps!

Default You will need something to help you flush the brake system, but then with you asking....

I would suggest you not do this and take it to Audi. I have been changing brakes on cars going back to when they were all drum brakes and have learned that brakes are not something to screw with unless you have someone teaching you what to do.

No offense intended, but with some of your questions you might want to get some help along the way. Generally there are others that live close that are willing to help.

Someone has shown us all something. I am still learning.

VagCom - yeah I got a copy and have had it hooked up and running in pure monitor mode. Had to buy an adpater from a guy in China over at eBay, but he was cool about the gear and $14.00 was cheap. I've done plenty of brake jobs, Opel GT, Lotus Europa, Eldorado (spirals), Ford, GM, 81/80 Harley. But hey, I am humble enough to go to the masters when I venture onto unfamiliar ground. The point of the questions was to get an answer and to pick up any hints on the flush needing super techie Audi-gear. I suppose the VagCom is to reset the maintenance flags? Or is there something special about it?
