Default Why you should do your own work on your car!

I am an ex-helicopter mechanic and have just decided that I will do all my own work on my car. I just cannot trust the Local Audi service to work on my car if they are missing obvious things. I guess that the CPO warranty will only be used if something breaks and I want them to pay for it.

You might remember that I had a unsatisfying experience with the dealership trying to have them diagnose/fix a severe rattle coming from underneath my TTR. https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1490729.phtml

Well, I was looking under the car today and noticed this! Holy crap! How could you miss this?

I figure that I was about one drive away from this falling off or worse, having half of it fall off and then have it shoot back up through the car. The nuts had about 1 thread before they were all going to fall off. They spun off using just one finger.
Do these require locking nuts? I tightened them down, but don't want them coming loose again.

The reason I was looking under the car today was to figure out where this goes. I found it on the garage floor the other day. Any ideas?

Default Unbelievable...you would think the first thing they would check would be for loose parts.

Good save.

That's a simple fix. Can find replacements at any local Auto Zone etc... Just holds the covers on your car.

That is so unacceptable!
If I had to know how to work on my own car.
They would never see my car no matter what.
