timing belt kits

Default timing belt kits

I am at 65k on my 2001 TT. Other than the belt and the fuel pump and other belts what else do you recommend to be changed? Who has the best quality stuff for this?

Default belt is not the problem. Waterpump is.

You need to get a complete kit with t-belt, aux belt, waterpump, tensioner pulley, mounting bolts and G12 coolant.

I got mine from diselgeek

Complete kit with belts, seals, WATER pump, thermostat/housing, tensioner and a discount on G12.

ECS Tuning has a nice kit with a metal impeller water pump.

Tensioner is the mail problem, AFAIK.

Default I think that is the case on other Audis. Our cars are known for having a plastic impeller on the

wpump which breaks off, seazes and breaks the belt.

Absolutely replace the water pump... mine was missing about half the impeller at 59K

Default Hmmm....I always saw those as almost seperate issues.

Plastic impeller is very bad but it slowly disintigrates rather than cause dramatic sudden belt failure. I had always thought the tensioner slowly lost pressure (it is a gas cylinder) and this led to a tooth-stripping belt skip causing the terrible damage we've heard about here so many times.
