Donut 101....
Here is my dilemma....my soon to be 16 year old son who is now on his drivers learning permit said to me, "Dad, I want you to teach me how to do donuts in a car!". I have taught this son of mine all he knows about driving and I made him learn on manual transmission cars before he ever drove an automatic. I have two questions...should a dad teach a son such a thing? And if I do, what would be the best vehicle to use? Our family fleet currently consists of these cars: VW Jetta Mk 4, VW Cabriolet, VW Rabbit Convertible, my TT Quattro 225, and a Chevy Conversion van, the only rear driver in the bunch. I think none of these are suitable as "donutmobiles". So what is the ideal training car? By the way, have you seen the Mustang commercial where a father encourages his son to do burnouts in a parking lot?! I think it's a riot! Please advise!
{P.S. can donuts even be performed in a Quattro?}
