Parking Brake Problems!!!
Hi Guys,
This is my first post. Just last week I got a 2000 Audi TT Quattro 180HP. I am loving it so far. Did the usual maintence items such as oil change, serpentine belt, K&N air filter, ect...
I drove it over to my friends house the other day to show him the new car. I wanted to keep it running so he could look under the hood. So, I kept the car running and put it in neutral (5-speed) and set the parking brake (his driveway is on a bit of a hill). So, we were walking around the car when I hear a POP sound and look to see my new TT rolling down the driveway into the street. Luckily I was able to jump in and step on the brake.
So, I want to know, What's up with this parking brake. It has done it about 4 more times since then. (Luckily, I have had it in gear every other time)Also, the small silver button on the tip of the parking brake also pops off when the brake releases. It doesn't do it right away. It usually takes at least a few minutes until it releases. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any fix?
