Default Driver error or TT error?

As some of you know I had my clutch replaced about 2 months ago. Before that when I got the car, the clutch was bad and I don't recall what it felt in the TT I test drove a year or so ago..

A little background info...

I borrowed my friends 01 GTI today and it shifts so incredibly smooth, my car doesn't feel like this.

When you shift from first to second in the GTI the car doesnt jerk, it feels like you didn't even shift.

In my TT, when I shift from first to second I get a big jerk... the revs fall and then catch, its not a slip, the clutch is engaging fine, its something else.


Its getting REALLY annoying and I'd love to get this fixed.

It seems like when I shift in higher revs, it doesn't do this... I can avoid the jerk by leaving the clutch in for a few seconds and rev matching, but who wants to do that? I just want my car to shift smooth like it should

Equipment issue IMO. Sticking Throw Out bearing mayhaps?

Default Very simple...>

It's mostly your technique, but the car isn't helping any. Power delivery on the TT is not very smooth under the condidtions you describe. An aftermarket DV will go a long way to smoothing out that glitch/stumble you describe. Chipping and a few other bits will make it as smooth and as tractable as a V6...

I just got a new N75 valve, its stock though, and it did seem to help a tad.

Default It was just replaced..

Which doesn't rule anything out, but I'd venture to guess that its okay...

I'll guess I'll just have to chip it... :sigh:

I'm w/ Steve then: N75 that is fluttering. Happens occasionally to me.

You should get paid to be on this board. I've learned so much for cruising by here everyday, 90 percent of my issues I can fix by just stopping by here on a daily basis.

Thanks again to everyone, I think I'll just go ahead and order the new DV.

Default They rarely go bad unless...>

They're the "race" valve (or "H" model). These seem to deteriorate fairly fast..

Default I guess I dont get it...

Since I have the new DV, you think that would fix it.

Is there any adjustments that can be made?


Another tidbit to throw in, the other day, was in my lot prepping to reverse, I push the clutch in and make my way into reverse and about 1/2 a second after I get it in, I hear a "CLUNK"

I made sure I was in gear and went ahead and backed out, everything seemed fine and it hasn't happend since.


Maybe that could be connected?
