Default OT, but how many of you guys have whirlpool duet washers?

do they shake/rock and vibrate or are they fairly smooth?

we just had one put in and started a load of towels and it didn't even get to spinning low speed and it started banging around so we paused it. I read the instructions and they said it had to be level side to side and front to back, all 4 feet solid and the lock nuts tightened to the washer.

Well... the guy didn't level it (I got a level and checked) and the lock nuts were loose around the foot and one foot was broken.. so no wonder.... but I'm wondering how stable its really supposed to be?

Edit: so they are level and stuff now and although there is a tiny bit of vibration left and sometimes the drawer makes a bit of noise... its pretty solid!

Default any washer will do that when off level and incorrect footing...

level it up and lock the feet in place. a full load of wet towels is a lot of centrifugal force.

Default Make sure the load is balanced, if you get more towels or clothes on one side......

it will really bang and actually make the washer move across the floor, happens to me. More than the level issue, mines not perfectly level.

Default I make my living in the dry cleaning business---------

When my 65 lb capacity washers spin and are out of balance---- you can feel the floor shake 10 feet away. A SIX INCH THICK CONCRETE floor !

Having all the levelers snug to the floor and locked will make a big difference in the machines motion and crawling. You may still feel the floor vibrate.

The Whirlpool Duet is very similar to a Bosch washer. I wonder if they may supply it to whirlpool. They are supposedly great washers.

Default Hmmm...hadn't thought about that, so it spins like a dryer, when it spins.....

fast to squeeze out the water it would always be unbalanced, must not spin very fast. Can you imagine a five pound weight on one side of your tire.

Default we made him level it etc when he came back.. not 100% solid but tons better

its on the stands so that might have something to do with it. Now it only vibrates a tiny bit as it starts to wind up.
