New Coilovers! Now for an alignment...do I really need a four corner balance?

Finally got the new Coilovers and K-Macs installed, and called to set up an appointment for a four wheel alignment. The shop said I should get a four corner balance as well.

Three questions.....

1. What exactly is a four corner balance?
2. Do I need to have it done?
3. How much should it cost (in addition to the $ 99.00 for the alignment)?

With you sitting in the car the springs are adjusted to balance the weight at each wheel

2. If you are tracking your car it is recommended. Normal driving it is optional. Aggressive driving it is a good idea.

3. I have had quotes of $400-600 which includes an alignment.

Thanks for the info...$ 400 to $ 600? They said only an extra hour for the corner balance?

The car should be set up for how you normally drive. An added passenger generally won't

make a huge impact on the setup, but it won't be noticable unless you are at the limit.

Yes, handling limit. Theorectically even empty vs full fuel tank makes a difference. But you aren't

racing it professionally so these minor changes won't significantly impact the driveablity.
