For fun pulled haldex clutch fuse...

speaking of drivetrain loss the other day, decided to see what the difference would be fwd compared to awd. I guess quattro models are fitted with a smaller front sway bar than the fwd models? because there was loads of torque steer. I didn't feel comfortable enough to even get on the gas. Butt dyno says car was faster.

It's also not FWD when you do that. There is still a mechanical aspect to Haldex.

does the rear not kick in as much? but just a constant pre set amount?

It doesn't engage at all but constantly drags..>>

the clutches when the fuse is pulled. there is a mechanical pump (in addition to the electrical one) driven by shaft/haldex rotation that you cannot disconnect. There will always be some drag and driveline loss unless you disconnect the driveshaft. Haldex only fully engages when there is slippage detected between the front and rear wheels (unless you have the Performance controller)
