Am I crazy for looking at a high mileage Audi TT?
Here's the story: I just sold my Golf R32 and picked up a C5 allroad. I need a fun car to spend my weekends driving and doing a few mods to it here and there. I plan on tracking it a couple of times a year as well.
I am very familiar with the MkIV platform Golf, having owned the R32. In addition, the AWD system on the TT is identical to that on the Golf (Haldex-based).
On the other hand, the MkIV platform is plagued with problems, especially in the early years - coilpacks come to mind as a prime example, as well as small items like window regulators, etc.
For those of you who have high mileage cars (80+K miles), is it the TT a pain the *** to own with no warranty?

if you do the maintenance, the car will be fine. Some cars are just plagued with problems, but i believe you see that across any brand.
I am currently almost at 120K....car runs better than new, and has more mods then most. It does not burn a drop of oil, still gets close to 30mpg on the highway and i drive it to work everyday...
The key to finding the right car for you is doing your homework...carfax reports, service history's, and one owner cars can be your friend!
Choose wisely, and you will be fine! IMO
