stripped bleeder valve?
i know this doesn't have to do with an audi. but i was performing a rotor and brake line upgrade on my bro's g35 (brembo calipers) when on the front left caliper i noticed one of the bleeder valves was hard to take off. it was stripped and apparently inside of the caliper the threads were too. since i don't know where the last place was he got his brakes changed i don't know who to go back to, to complain that they put it in wrong - besides the fact how to i prove that it was stripped going in??? does anyone know if it is possible to fix or replace this?? please help. i would SOOOOOO hate to buy a new caliper.

I've not used one in this application, but they have worked in other
high pressure areas. They are commonly used to fix stripped spark plugs. You'll need to take the bleeder into NAPA or something like that to get the correct size. I checked their website and they have dozens of sizes and applications.

bleeder valves don't rely upon the threads to seal (the valve presses against a conical seat).
However, it would be really easy to screw up the seat while drilling the hole out for a helicoil.

Just stripped rear driver side brake bleeder valve
I read what you guys said in the postings. I am going to do the helicoil and hope that it works. I guess the thing is that I will need to get a larger size bleeder valve for the larger tapped hole, right? Thank you in advance for the information, the information here is very helpful.
